Aircraft Safety Requirements
Pre-Arrival Inspection
- • Ensure your aircraft is airworthy and properly maintained

- • Check that your aircraft dimensions match the hangar specifications
- • Confirm fuel levels are appropriate for hangar storage
- • Remove or secure any loose items in the cockpit or cabin
Insurance Requirements
- • Maintain current aircraft liability insurance
- • Verify coverage includes ground operations and hangar storage
- • Provide proof of insurance to hangar owners when requested
- • Ensure coverage meets minimum requirements for the specific airport
- • Report any insurance changes or lapses immediately
Pilot Qualifications
- • Hold a valid pilot certificate appropriate for your aircraft
- • Maintain current medical certificate as required
- • Complete required recency of experience for the aircraft type
- • Be familiar with local airport procedures and restrictions
- • Carry required identification and certificates during operations
Hangar Safety Procedures
Fire Safety
- • Locate and familiarize yourself with fire extinguishers
- • Know the location of emergency exits and evacuation routes
- • Never smoke or use open flames in or near the hangar

Security Measures
- • Always lock the hangar when leaving your aircraft
- • Do not share access codes or keys with unauthorized persons
- • Report any suspicious activity to hangar owners and authorities
- • Secure valuable items and remove them when possible
- • Follow airport security protocols and badge requirements
- • Notify hangar owners of any security concerns
Equipment Operation
- • Only operate hangar equipment if properly trained
- • Follow manufacturer instructions for all equipment
- • Report any equipment malfunctions immediately
- • Use proper personal protective equipment when required
- • Never exceed weight limits for lifting equipment
- • Ensure clear pathways before moving aircraft
Emergency Procedures
Fire Emergency
- 1. Evacuate the area immediately
- 2. Call 911 and airport fire department
- 3. Use fire extinguisher only if safe to do so
- 4. Do not re-enter until cleared by authorities
- 5. Notify hangar owner and HangarStay
Fuel Spill
- 1. Stop the source of the spill if safe
- 2. Evacuate and ventilate the area
- 3. Eliminate ignition sources
- 4. Call airport operations immediately
- 5. Use appropriate spill cleanup materials
Severe Weather
- 1. Monitor weather conditions closely
- 2. Secure aircraft with proper tie-downs
- 3. Close and secure hangar doors
- 4. Avoid hangar operations during storms
- 5. Inspect aircraft after severe weather
Aircraft Damage
- 1. Document damage with photos
- 2. Do not move the aircraft
- 3. Contact your insurance company
- 4. Notify hangar owner immediately
- 5. File incident report with HangarStay
